Core LMS+ Services

UNL Academic Technologies supports the following core technology services for teaching and learning. For a comprehensive training course that covers Canvas and many of the other core services in the Academic Technologies portfolio, visit our self-paced Tech Expert course in Canvas.

  • Canvas: Our university’s Learning Management System (LMS) for delivering courses, sharing materials, and engaging students online.
  • Ally: An accessibility checker integrated with Canvas that helps instructors create more accessible course content.
  • Akindi: An online bubble sheet scanning tool for efficient multiple-choice assessment grading.
  • Gradescope: A grading platform that streamlines grading of assignments and exams and supports both paper-based and digital submissions.
  • Mobius: An advanced assessment creation and delivery platform, especially for STEM courses, supporting complex question types and automatic grading.
  • Perusall: A collaborative reading and annotation tool that lets students highlight, comment, and discuss course readings directly within the platform.
  • Polling App: Gather real-time responses during class to boost engagement and check understanding. Visit https://polling.unl.edu/ to get started.
  • Respondus: A suite of secure online testing solutions, including LockDown Browser and Monitor for proctored exams in Canvas.
  • Turnitin: A plagiarism detection and writing feedback tool that checks student submissions for originality and provides instructors with similarity reports.
  • Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys: An online platform for creating, distributing, and analyzing end-of-course evaluations and student feedback.
  • YuJa: An enterprise video platform for creating and organizing videos and sharing multimedia content within Canvas.
  • Zoom: A web conferencing and collaboration tool for virtual classes, meetings, and webinars.

LTI Request Information

ITS has vetted many third-party LTIs (Learning Tools Interoperability apps) that can be integrated into Canvas.

  • View the full list: See which LTIs are already approved and available for use in Canvas here. Some LTIs may require installation by our team - if you don’t see a tool in your Canvas course’s navigation menu, let us know!

If you would like ITS to consider a new LTI for your course, you can submit a request:
