Apply for Access to ChatGPT EDU for Operations, Research or Class Preparation
In collaboration with OpenAI, UNL is granting access to the EDU version of ChatGPT for up to 300 users (at no cost to the user). Our goal is to explore how AI can be helpful in operations, research or creative activity, or class preparation and execution.
ChatGPT EDU is available for all full and part-time faculty and full-time staff at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Currently, access for students is only permitted as a part of a proposal submitted by a faculty or staff member (GA, TA, researcher, etc.). All users must have an unl.edu or huskers.unl.edu email address.
Applications are now being accepted on a rolling basis (as long as licenses are available). If licenses are no longer available, you will be notified and given two options: you can purchase a license through ITS using a cost center, or you can be placed on a waiting list and notified when a license becomes available.
Proposal submissions for this category should be in the following areas:
- Class Preparation and Execution
- Research or Creative Activity
- Operational Efficiency
Proposals will require the following:
- Number of licenses being requested
- Project/Application Title
- Project Description - what are you wanting to use it for
- Summary of data you may be using and potential risk
Important Notes about Participating:
Generative AI Training: All users must complete the Generative AI Cybersecurity Awareness Training before gaining access to ChatGPT EDU.
